NEW CLASS STARTING September 2018
Sight Singing:  Sing your way to Music Literacy

A four semester traditional solfeggio program that will put you on the road to becoming a fluent music reader.
Get the basics in the first year, or continue toward the intermediate level in year 2.

Adult Class, Meets in Greenfield, MA  (open to anyone 17 and older)
Here is an opportunity to fall in love with the Do-Re-Mi's, i.e. solfeggio, while making fast progress toward learning to sight read music. All of the work is done vocally, there is no need to play an instrument. This class will be all about the action verbs of music reading such as singing on solfeggio syllables, tapping rhythms, counting aloud, and using basic conducting patterns as you sing. Loaded with fun drills and easy group songs to be learned first on syllables and later with words - or sometimes the reverse. The method is a hybrid combination of The Kodaly Method and Dr. Gary Karpinsky's UMASS Aural Skills program. It's also equivalent to a basic music theory preparation or review class.
